Nicki Minaj is a busy gal. Yes, it's been about 18 months since she dropped her last official LP (Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded), but in that time, she's given fans plenty: There was a deluxe release (The Re-Up) and a ton of feature verses for Chris Brown, Ciara, Big Sean, Meek Mill, Wale, Mario and DJ Khaled. Now though, Nicki has got some things to get off her chest, so she's gearing up to for her third LP.

"In the features, I don't really delve into no real deep sh--. And with the album, thank God, I've experienced so much in the last year and a half that there is so much for me to talk about and I know my fans are going to be excited about it," Nicki told MTV News on Saturday after taking the stage at Power 105.1's Powerhouse concert in Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

"I'm definitely working," she added. "I'm very excited at what I've been coming up with. I already started, I didn't tell anybody because I didn't want to jinx it and stuff but I already started and I'm going home tomorrow to really start," she said before revealing she aims to drop the album next year.

Minaj has already worked with a ton of major music names, but on her upcoming still-untitled LP, she's looking to broaden her horizons. Nicki didn't name drop, but knowing her it should all be pretty notable. "I'm really excited and the people that have been working with me now, have been people that I haven't worked with before so it's like they're bringing a new sound to the album that I've never experimented with and plus, I got so much to talk about," she teased.

Ms. Minaj also spoke to Power 105 this weekend and addressed Kendrick Lamar's controversial "Control" verse. She told the radio station that she considers herself the king and queen of New York's rap circuit.

"I'm probably in the top five of the n---as he did mention, so go and do your mother---ing research," Nicki said. "But I also feel like [Kendrick] may be one of those respectful gentlemen that probably felt like, 'I don't want to say a female's name.' Or maybe he just don't think the kid is ill. But the kid knows the kid is ill, so I don't need to be on nobody's d---.

"I'm the queen of New York," she continued. "I'm the king of New York. Let me tell you why: Platinum albums. Albums — plural. Number one in five mother---ing countries, n---a."
