i'm tired of  playing stupid people online and i'm fed up with people who report you and give you a bad reputation because they loose a multiplayer online game that I no longer play online games. As a result. I didn't renew my live gold membership. It is really nice not having to listen to nasty idiotic  morons.

I think it would be hilarious if people with a bad reputation could have their systems remotely bricked by Microsoft for say 24 hours or something for being douchie little hob goblins on XBL. 

 I think the reputation move is long overdue. The gaming community needs to confront its own emotional immaturity or risk going down the slippery slope of making the gaming environment less and less pleasant.

Here's a thought -- since MS and Facebook is so closely related, is it possible that the real buyer is MS not Oculus? And this is Xbox's new VR head set?

Thanks MS for trying to clean up the gaming communities.  In regards to Oculus it is dead and I am looking for excellent alternatives.  Step it up Sony and other companies!

Who would invest in this?  The technology really hasn't evolved much from Virtual Boy.  The problem then and now is that people don't want to strap the equivalent of a cathode ray tube television to their face.  It really isn't that difficult to understand.

This is far from ready for prime time.  Jeez.  This looks ancient compared to Google Glass, even.  

I hope, for Mark Zuckerberg's sake, that Oculus has some secret technology that we don't know about.  Otherwise, Zuckerberg's even dumber than he looks...

Well, didn't Facebook initially get started to rate campus hookers or something. I don't recall the movie too well.

Even if they somehow got the reputation system to work and made it impossible to abuse it, I have a hard time believing the huge percentage of cretins online will change their behavior.  It's far more likely MS will give up and decide only the worst of the worst will have any action taken against them.

Facebook is a malevolent force that soothes the insecure and inflates users' sense of self importance, which directly contributes to just the sort of behavior MS is now trying to curb.  No matter how badly a person acts in real life, their virtual self has an online shrine devoted to them, complete with "friends".  Why change when they're clearly awesome?

When playing Titanfall I quickly found the mute checkbox for team mates. Listening to children swear is really awful.  I'm 45 now and I do remember  as a child swearing up a storm.  This was however not broadcast to adults, all of the time. So I feel hypocritical to complain, happy about mute buttons, and wishing kids wouldn't swear even though I did.

Jess please pass this on to management. So now GS is cancelling two shows. I'm guessing due to lack of viewership. Well Geniuses-(management), You are not getting views, because nobody knows when the shows are new anymore and people don't go looking for them when you are constantly putting up empty click-bait articles.  you have ruined the main page of your site. The list of shows on this page should be on the main page just like  it is here, Then in the middle the most recent news NOT the most commented articles that are as much as 5 days old.  Then below that have they top 5 most comment articles  of the last 48 hours tops. Not this 3 to 5 day old stuff.  IF you need me as a consultant my rates are competitive.   And this is not directed at you Jess. its directed at management. Thanks.

So Microsoft is profiling people and Spybook bought out the OR, probably to turn it into some mind control device. All this fascist crap is too much for me to even rant about...

I also like the idea of penalizing annoying people on the internet. Squeekers, douchebags and other trolls beware! I hope that other online services offer this feature in the future.

Hi Astrid...  I think "crap fest" is a pretty succinct way to sum it up.  You always have that cute grin when you say something like that.

I'm one of the Oculus Kickstarter backers and I have to tell you that I'm mystified as to why some of my fellow backers feel that they have a dog in this fight.

Kickstarter backers donate money to help fledgling projects succeed.  In return we receive "rewards" commensurate with the amount of the donation if the project succeeds. 

Oculus' only duty to us was to provide those rewards and to give us early access to their SDK and dev kits.  They did so and therefore they met their obligation to us.  As far as I can tell we got what we paid for and then some  These terms were clearly stated from the get-go and reiterated upon by Kickstarter staff on several occasions.

This feeling that some of my fellow backers have that they're entitled to essentially tell Oculus how to run it's business really strikes me as infantile.  No such "say so" was ever promised nor is due us. 

why in the hell would zuckerberg give 2 billions...1 billion...2 billion WTF! why BILLIONS!!!!! our fudging government can't even do that for roads that don't self destroy themself's....that's why im so concerned about this its too much money for no reason...and i don't trust money given for no reason...there's always a c*ck at the end...

To be fair to gamespot, i do enjoy most their shows (including top 5 skyrim mods, and i hate skyrim). If GTA diaries, random encounter, skyrim mods, or house of horrors go, then ill be a little bit more upset.

@oskuuu I have also had the same problem with this; apparently I too have this amazing ability to trash talk without a mic. 

Then there was a gaming session where my 360 crashed and I got negative feedback for "leaving a game early". The problem also lies with having 20 some odd players not paying attention to who's doing the talking at the time and people just slap whoever is nearby with negative rep.

@TigusVidiks  Saying that it is early days and banning innocent well mannered people likely will happen at some point but even so if it is going to last it will have to be stable and sophisticated enough to counter that.

@TimberWolf_CLT  Well I think they view Kickstarter in a different way than you do, and I'm inclined to be more sympathetic to their viewpoint than yours.

I don't really think that Kickstarter is meant to just be a distribution platform. That is, there's a little more to it than just "I put in $20 and you give me my reward." It's not a pre-purchase platform in the same way that pre-purchasing a game on Steam is.

Rather, I (and presumably those who are upset) view Kickstarter as a statement of support for a given team, product idea, or development methodology. For example, I backed Double Fine Adventure even though I have no interest in adventure games because I wanted to demonstrate the viability of game development outside of the traditional studio/distribution binary.

Thus had Double Fine eventually obtained distributor support along with all of the development restrictions, I would have felt that they betrayed their initial promise to me.

I didn't back OR, so I have no idea what the pitch actually looked like. But I imagine those who are angry likewise feel betrayed that OR's kickstarter was essentially used to garner interest and raise the value of this eventual acquisition 2 billion dollar acquisition. Considering Kickstarter's mission statement is [verbatim] a means for the little guy to have his dream turned into reality, I find it hard not to feel at least some sympathy towards the OR backers who are upset. Their anger is a far cry from feeling 'entitled to tell Oculus how to run its business.'

Personally, I think hookers being hookers is kind of creepy. Calling them hookers if they are being hookers, is not as creepy as it is informative.

I know there are lots of people just like me that are missing shows because they don't have that list that was once there. And simply don't, won't or can't take time to go looking to see what is new and what is not.

As I side note I really like Danny's, Cam's ,and your shows. I would be disappointed if they got cancelled.
