Shamrock Crafts

You're going to love this easy kid friendly craft! Not only is it useful, but it will make your car smell like heaven!

Kids love to celebrate holidays and love making holiday crafts!  This shamrock craft is easy enough for most kids 5 and older to do with little or no assitance, allowing you to make dinner or just sit and craft right next to them.

What you'll need

  • Shamrock template
  • Green and white felt
  • Ribbon
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Scented oil
Notes:

Small children will need your assistance with sharp scissors and the scented oils.

Variations:

This project allows for your own creative expression. Any shape will work.

How to make it

  1. Shamrock Crafts

    Gather your supplies.

Felt, glue, scissors, scented oil, ribbon

  2. Shamrock Template

Download or free draw your Shamrock template. Cut 2 green shamrocks and one white. The white shamrock needs to be slightly bigger than the green shamrocks.

  3. Shamrock Craft

After you have your 2 green shamrocks and 1 white, gently drop scented oil in the middle of the white shamrock.

  4. DIY Shamrock crafts

Apply glue to one side of each green shamrock.  Be sure to arrange your shamrock so the shapes line up with the white shamrock.

  5. DIY Shamrock Craft

Apply each green shamrock to each side of the white shamrock. The white shamrock is in the middle.

  6. DIY Shamrock crafts

This is where you'll need to help the kiddos.  Using sharp scissors, fold the shamrock near the top where you'll need to cut a small slit large enough to thread the ribbon through.

  7. Shamrock crafts

Use a coordinating ribbon about 10 inches long.

  8. I threaded both ends through my shamrock and looped through the ribbon top to create a more finished attachment. But you can tie the ribbon on anyway that works.

  9. Hang your homemade shamrock car freshener in your car or anywhere that needs a little freshening up.  I think I'll make one of these for my son's soccer bag!
