About the Author

Steven Kerry Brown, founder and president of Millennial Investigative Agency, began his investigative career as a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. His clients call on him for practically every investigative need, from simple preemployment background checks to murders disguised as suicides. He has appeared on television programs such as Hard Copy and 60 Minutes, speaks frequently before civic and professional groups, and maintains his membership in the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

More About the Author

Welcome. I am the author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Private Investigating 3rd Edition. Also 5 Things Women Need to Know About the Men They Date (5ThingsWomenNeedtoKnow.com).

I am, by profession, a private investigator. In my first life I was a special agent and supervisory special agent for the FBI. I took those skills and began Millennial Investigative Agency (www.stevenkbrown.com) and Hindsight Services Inc., (www.hindsightinc.com) a background screening company. Hindsight services clients from one coast to the other.

I have two novels which I hope to get up on Amazon shortly. Both of the novels involve boats. I love sailing, diving, snorkeling, spear fishing, and the Bahamas. I also share a blog with James Frey, and Jeffrey "Hammerhead" Philips at www.handcuffedtotheocean.com

Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions that I can help you with.

Lots of tips and sites to use in your business.
M. Jones
Other books I've read have had relevant information, but none of them have presented their material as clearly as this one.

I just retired from 27 years with the FBI and am opening a PI business. The author is a former FBI Agent and I connected immediately. In other words, the material was easy to read, very understandable. He uses multiple examples in the book to illustrate his points. Other books I've read have had relevant information, but none of them have presented their material as clearly as this one. The author gives boo koo amounts of web sites to support your business, as well. After reading this book, I felt I had better understanding of what it takes to be a good PI. If you are considering going into the business of PI work, this is a must for your book shelf!

As a private investigator myself I highly recommend this primer to the private eye field. Whether your thinking about entering the field, or an experienced PI, there is lots of good stuff packed into this book. Perhaps your just someone with a problem and need to do some investigating on your own, this book is also for you. It's worth it!

I learned a lot from reading this book. What I liked most was the fact that I could read the table of contents and go directly to the chapter for the subject matter. Well worth the read!

This book presents a decent overview of private investigation expectations and techniques. I had previously read a library copy and decided to purchase my own copy for future reference.

About what I expected, an overview. All in all, not bad. Clearly written but often vague. It does pack a lot of information in a small package.

Informative.and straight forward. I find it easy to read, and also lays a foundation to basic information in this field, with a no bias approach.
