Parents need to know that Disney Create is a safe, free part of the Disney website where kids use apps to create a variety of types of online art, post it online, and connect with other kids. You can use the site's drawing apps and tools without registering, but you'll need to register if you want to save and/or share artwork. However, if you've already registered for another Disney site, you can log into this site using your account ID and password.

DISNEY CREATE offers a fun, simple way for kids to draw online using
apps -- artistic tools with individual themes like pets, villains, and
more. After registering and picking an online identity from a selection of
Disney icons like Aladdin and Alice in Wonderland, kids can paint,
sketch, add pre-drawn images, and save their artwork to their desktop --
or opt to share it on the site. Users can also comment on and rate
shared art. The site's drawing tools are easy to use; each app contains a brief
rundown of its various functions. And there are plenty to choose from: In addition to the drawing-based apps, the site also offers tools to
sketch cartoons and functionality to create and animate cats, birds, and
other animals. The result? Kids should be able to find plenty of things
to doodle with each time they use Disney Create.
Online interaction: The site's SpeedChat Plus feature lets users chat with pre-selected messages like "Thanks" and "What's your favorite game?" Users can also key in words, but if they aren't in the dictionary, you'll have to choose an alternate word before the message can be sent.

QUALITY
I love it, but I hate it. I draw pictures on there (not inapropreate) and I click "share" so other people can see them, but they don't show half of them. And there's nobody to talk to about it on there, nobody to explain the problem to.

Great for drawing, drawings can take time before shown
This is fun for drawing and sharing artwork, especially if you have friends on it. But It can take a LONG time for drawings to become "approved for sharing" and totally not innapropriate drawings sometimes are never aprproved. Expect drawings to be approved from 1 day to 1 week of being drawn. This can be frustrating. Especially when you start. It seems the more popular you become, the faster your drawings are approved and the more drawings are featured. The site isn't fair to people just starting out. You just have to keep drawing and sharing until enough people see your art. And there's no way to send messages to disney, to tell them this. And the search feature is currently broken (May 2011) so you can only find new things. This means that if you have new people joining, it can be nearly impossible to find each other. But the new Create News is awesome and solves many issues and annoyances.
