Ducks Sign Right Wing Matt Bailey to a Two-Year Entry-Level Contract
Bailey, 22 (4/5/91), played four seasons for the University of Alaska-Anchorage of the WCHA from 2010-14, recording 47-47=94 points with 167 penalty minutes (PIM) in 138 career games. Bailey was recently named to the All-WCHA First Team, the WCHA All-Academic Team and honored as a WCHA Scholar-Athlete. The 6-1, 201-pound winger recorded career highs in goals, assists and points in 2013-14, finishing with 20-18=38 points and 49 PIM in 38 games. He led the Seawolves in goals, points and game-winning goals (6).
A native of Oakbank, Manitoba, Bailey played two seasons in the United States Hockey League (USHL) prior to attending Alaska-Anchorage. He posted 24-47=71 points in 117 games with the Tri-City Storm and the Sioux Falls Stampede from 2008-10. Bailey also appeared in three playoff games in his USHL career, scoring 2-0=2 points.
