The father-daughter duo — Raj Arjun and Sarah, are going places
Actor Raj Arjun is surprised at the attention his daughter is drawing ever since her film Naana released. People aren't satisfied seeing Anushka or Vikram, they are screaming for Vennela or Nila (her name in the Tamil version) and calm down only when the father picks her up and makes her wave at the crowd; After Hyderabad, the unit is off to Chennai, Trichy and next it will be Malyasia. Though Sarah is aware that she is in focus, she is unfazed by the attention and back at the hotel room, asks for her eraser, sharpener and colour pencils. Raj Arjun says, “I didn't expect her to become a celebrity overnight, I'm a proud father. At different places she says different lines like …'I love you all, do you love me? Did you like my work? Appa is the best..' and no, they are not prompted.”
The attention now shifts from the daughter's works to the father's. Raj Arjun has just signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ravdi Rathore and then he is playing a lead role of a terrorist in Tomorrow with Seema Biswas, also a main negative role in Rock Shop that is a comedy. He adds, “In Rock Shop my name is Kabala and I play a computer hacker, Sonali Kulkarni gives me company. The film has been shot in Mauritius. There is a RGV film as well... Shabari which happens to be my first project but got held up for some reason. I'm the lead player Murad and Ishaa Koppikar is my love interest. Lalit Marathe is the writer as well as the director of the film.
The interesting out of the lot is Khaap that is hitting the screens this week. Khaap is a self styled society or a group of villages in Haryana that doesn't allow marriages within the sect or caste, if someone does marry then they are killed. The ritual of the Khaap Panchayats (Kangaroo courts) awarding honour killing is still prevalent. Raj Arjun plays the victim whose fiancé is killed in his presence. What happens to him thereafter has to be seen. While Raj Arjun's diary is full and Sarah being flooded with offers, the father-daughter are certainly going places.
