- Scaling of Reads and Writes - ParElastic creates a virtual database from a collection of unmodified MySQL or RDS servers. As data increases, consistent performance is guaranteed, even in the face of variable workloads and extremely high volumes of inserts. ParElastic has shown to handle over 1 million inserts per second in the Amazon cloud.
- Automatic Data Distribution - To optimize query performance tables are automatically partitioned across multiple database servers without the need for application level sharding. ParElastic determines where to place the data based on rules defined by the system administrator. At the same time, "cross shard joins"and other distributed operations are handled completely transparently and consistently.
- Built for Multi-Tenancy - For SaaS environments, ParElastic's adaptive multi-tenancy lets each tenant operate as if it had its own private database, while behind the scenes, balancing the load across all available servers. This eliminates per database overhead and ensures that no one tenant will interfere with the performance of others, avoiding the "bad neighbor effect".
An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is an encrypted machine image of a specific computer running a base operating system, configured in a specific way, and can also contain a set of applications and services for accomplishing a specific purpose. An AMI contains all the information necessary to start up and run the software on the image. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the computing environment for running instances of an AMI.
AWS CloudFormation gives developers and system administrators an easy way to create and manage a collection of related AWS resources. The CloudFormation stack associated with this product will launch an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) with the software and configure related resources, such as Elastic IPs, VPCs, and security groups.
