Isabel collaborates with MelleSan on headpiece collection

February 1st 2014 • by Jess • 1 Comment »News, Other Projects, Style

Remember the stunning headdress Isabel wore in the ‘Bird On The Buffalo’ music video a few years ago? That piece was designed by MelleSan, an independent French designer who makes all her own pieces. Isabel loved her work so much, she has now joined forces with MelleSan to create a collection of crystal headpieces. Isabel has “always collected gemstones and cherish them”, plus, part of the proceeds from sales will be donated to the Australian Marine Conservation Society, so you can see why she wanted to get involved. Read the press release and finds the relevant links to see/buy from the collection below:

Actress Isabel Lucas is collaborating with MELLESAN on a capsule collection of headpieces.

After having beautifully worn headpieces from the brand, the actress and the brand have kept a faithful connection and decided to think and work on a selection of creations together.

Using natural gemstones as the main material, such as Amethyst, Rainbow Moonstone and Rose Quartz, these mineral, delicate and precious jewels can be worn in an aerial or in a more structured way as a crown placed on the forehead. The creations offer those wearing them, the freedom to believe in the therapeutic and protective properties and magic conferred on these stones.

Sydney Style Edit Q&A with Isabel

February 1st 2014 • by Jess • No CommentsStyle

Big thanks to an anonymous visitor for pointing out this fab new Q&A with Isabel, in which she talks about her style, and how her choices are influenced by her dedication to the environment. There’s also a pretty new picture of Isabel and the blog author, taken back in December in Australia. Because it’s more of a ‘personal’ blog rather than a big commercial one I won’t re-post the interview here; instead, hop on over to Sydney Style Edit to read it for yourself.

December 27th 2013 • by Jess • No CommentsSite Update

Final update for now is a small content one – the Filmography has been updated, information for Linneys has been written, the Charity page has been updated with information about Isabel’s Wilderness Society/Kimberley coastline work, and new Press interviews have been added. I think that brings our content up-to-date now! The sidebar has also been tidied up.

Isabel in Australian Vogue

December 27th 2013 • by Jess • 2 CommentsGallery Update, Media Alert, Videos

Isabel looked so chic and stunning in the pages of the December issue of Australian Vogue! She posed in Chanel for a cricket-themed photoshoot for the magazine – there was no interview, unfortunately, as it was just a fashion spread. The photos are just gorgeous, and this is one of my new favourites of Isabel. Plus, we now know what she was doing in these photos ;-)

Isabel starring in Russell Crowe’s “The Water Diviner”!

December 27th 2013 • by Jess • No CommentsRumoured Role

I just happened to stop by Isabel’s management company’s Facebook page, and noticed a very exciting announcement:

16 December: Isabel Lucas wraps on the Australian Feature Film ‘The Water Diviner’ Directed by Russell Crowe.

This is such exciting news! Congratulations to Isabel on scoring such an important part. I’m surprised we hadn’t heard anything about it sooner. I wonder if it is the project Isabel mentioned in this recent interview? The Water Diviner is Russell Crowe’s directorial debut, and has been shooting in Sydney since the start of the month. Filming will continue (though not for Isabel according to the status above) in Turkey in the new year. IMDB lists the synopsis as being:

An Australian man travels to Turkey after the Battle of Gallipoli to try and locate his three missing sons

Further down this post is an article from Variety about the project, and I will of course keep you updated with more details on Isabel’s role as and when they become available…

New project: ‘Engram’?

December 27th 2013 • by Jess • No CommentsRumoured Role

According to Isabel’s official CV/profile – from her management company – she has been working on a new short film entitled Engram. Isabel is listed as playing ‘Her’ in the project. It will be written and directed by Maggie Betts – whom Isabel was pictured with at the recent Armani event – and casted by Brette Goldstein.

After doing a bit of research I found this casting website, which is calling for actors to play the older versions of the main characters. It lists Aussie actor Oliver Ackland as co-starring with Isabel.

I will continue to look out for more info on this project, and if you have any more details on it then please get in touch!

Photos & video from Isabel’s ‘Cote D’Azur’ Linneys campaign

As reported previously, Isabel is the new face of Australian jewellry brand Linneys 2014 ‘Cote D’Azur’ campaign. The campaign was launched in late November, and we now have lots of photos from it! Added to the Gallery are the photoshoot pictures, a behind the scenes shot, screencaps of Isabel from the official Linneys website, and captures from the campaign catalogue. Isabel looks so glamourous and confident!

You can browse the catalogue at Linneys’ official site, or through their Facebook page.

Brand ambassadors
Australian actress Isabel Lucas has been selected as ambassador for the new range, which will officially launch on Wednesday 27 November at an invitation-only event in Sydney.

Linney said Lucas had a natural beauty and elegance that perfectly suited the Cote d’Azur collection.

“Isabel is a well known Australian talent, especially with a younger demographic, so as well as being a beautiful model for the new collection she will also hopefully bring new clients to the Linneys brand as it continues to grow,” he explained.

In addition to the main collection, Lucas and the jewellery retailer have collaborated to create a piece that will be auctioned to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund. The pendant features 18-carat rose gold, an Australian South Sea pearl and diamonds valued at more than $3,000.

This is not the first time Linneys has worked with a celebrity in order to promote its collections. The 2013 Gardens of Eden range was fronted by Belgian Victoria’s Secret model Jessica Van Der Steen and it has also used Australian personalities such as Jessica Marais, Melissa George, Jason Dundas and Ernie Dingo in its marketing.

Commenting on the importance of brand ambassadors, Linney said, “Ambassadors have provided our brand with an incredible platform from which we can launch our new collections and present them to the market on a more personal level.”

New interview with The West Australian

December 27th 2013 • by Jess • No CommentsCareer, Charities, Knight Of Cups, Linneys, Personal, Rumoured Role, Site Update

A couple of months ago, Isabel spoke to The West Australian to promote Linneys. She also chatted about Knight Of Cups, and teased us about a new project she is working on! Read the full interview on our press page through the link below…

Isabel Lucas honours the Kimberley

She may be working with Hollywood hot shots Christian Bale, Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett but Aussie actress, environmental activist and the face of luxury WA jewellery label Linneys, Isabel Lucas, is keeping her feet firmly on the ground.

The 28-year-old co-stars with the Oscar-winning trio in Knight of Cups, one of the most eagerly awaited cinematic releases of 2014 from acclaimed American auteur Terrence Malick (The Tree of Life, To the Wonder).

The tightly guarded film is said to be about a man, temptations, celebrity and excess and shot in an improvised style, without a script.

“Terrence is a man of such integrity and an incredible artist . . . it was such a magical experience and I am so grateful,” the softly spoken, Los Angeles-based Lucas gushes modestly to AAA Weekend.

“And Christian taught me so much and was very generous with me. Cate seems like such a guiding light and so conscious in so many ways . . . I really admire her. And Natalie (also starring in Thor: The Dark World opposite Lucas’ former lover Chris Hemsworth) was so lovely, really kind and sweet.”

As for her burgeoning film career, Lucas is surging ahead with three other US films due for release next year – including a thriller alongside *Nick Jonas *- and an Australian production that has her tight-lipped on the details.

“I can say I’m filming the movie in December in Sydney and I’m really excited but I’m not allowed to say what it is just yet,” she says.
