Who We Are

Matthew Shadel

Managing Partner, CEO

Matt has more than 14 years experience in business development, project management, application and database development, and technical instruction. Matt has also worked as a Senior Engineer, Adjunct Professor, and Service Manager. He received a B.A. in Cognitive Science from the University of Virginia.

Tim McDaniels

Managing Partner, Senior Developer

Tim has more than 13 years experience in the areas of project management, application and database development, system administration, and staff training. Tim is proficient in a variety of programming languages and is an experienced UNIX system administrator. He received a B.A. in English Literature with a Minor in Computer Science from James Madison University.

Matt Thomas

Managing Partner, Creative Director

As co-founding partner and creative director at Convoy, Matt oversees creative development for all studio accounts. Throughout his career he has designed and managed award winning work for clients big and small. His clean and bold design aesthetic has served a wide variety of clients such as Time Life, Procter & Gamble, and AARP. In his free time, Matt enjoys lecturing on design, renovating his house with his wife Julie, and running marathons.

Sarah White

Account Manager

Filling the gaps at Convoy, Sarah assists clients, crunches numbers, jumps in the production pool, and provides myriad other types of administrative and project support. Sarah holds a BA in English and an MA in American Studies from the University of Virginia and maintains an above ground music career, most recently highlighted in her Convoy designed website: www.sarah-white.com

Michelle Hamson

Graphic Designer

Michelle Hamson graduated from James Madison University in 2011 and joined Convoy soon after. Her strong illustration and design sensibilities make her a highly versatile member of our design team. An innate talent for art and design feeds her desire to travel the world and refine her skills as a visual artist. She received a BFA in Studio Art / Graphic Design from JMU.

Courtney Jones

Web Developer

Courtney, the latest addition to the Convoy team, stays busy transforming Convoy’s custom web designs into WordPress themes for our growing legion of clients. Her core passion for PHP and WordPress development extends to Ruby on Rails, Responsive Design implementation, and basically “any and all things programming.” Courtney graduated from JMU with a BA in Media Arts and Design and — when not reading up on industry best practices — enjoys playing the piano, mandolin and watercoloring.
