Ferrari Driver Academy expands in the Orient

5.16.2011
Maranello, 16 May – The Ferrari Driver Academy, the young driver programme launched by the Maranello Scuderia in 2009 will now oversee the Chinese Driver Series, the Asian series seen as a stepping stone to Formula 3 and GP3 for drivers coming from karting or junior formulae, with drivers competing in Formula Abarth cars. There are six rounds in 2011, in China and Malaysia and two drivers will be chosen over the course of the season to take part in a course run by the Ferrari academy at the Fiorano circuit.

After recently joining forces with the European Formula Abarth series and the Panam GP series, the FDA is now looking to the Orient to show that, apart from training Ferrari drivers of the future, its aim is to promote motor sport all over the world.
