On 11 March 2012, the Royal Thai Embassy in Paris—in  collaboration with the Gitasiravadha Foundation, the Ministry of Culture, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, PTT Pcl., Bangkok Bank Pcl., Nation Broadcasting Cooperation Pcl., Mango TV, Association Solidarité Thaïe en France and the Quai Branly Museum—organized a concert featuring His Majesty the Kings compositions set to French lyrics at the Claude Lévi-Strausse Theater of the Quai Branly Museum, to commemorate the 84th Anniversary of His Majesty. 

            Some 400 guests, comprising the diplomatic corps, members of the Association of La Légion dHonneur, representatives from the Ministry of Culture of France and other agencies, along with the private sector and the Thai communities in France, Monaco and nearby countries, as well as Thai and foreign press, attended the concert.

          The show featured 14 songs composed by His Majesty, sung in French by Fongfa Sadissarat, Ardhawadee Jiramaneekul, Vanina Sucharitkul,  Pakawat Wongthai, Myra Molloy, Christophe Descamps and Laurent Santos. These talented singers were accompanied by a five-piece jazz band led by Koh Mr. Saxman.  Two musicians from France also joined in at one point, with verve and brio. Dancers and multimedia projection enlivened the stage, creating a colorful spectacle which impressed the audience who were swayed by the smouldering jazzy tunes, judging from the long standing ovation after the concert.

             This event was organized to promote His Majestys compositions among francophone speakers.  Khun Premika Sucharitkul, Vice President of the Gitasiravadha Foundation, was granted royal permissions to set all of His Majestys songs to French lyrics and to organize this concert in Paris.  The debut performance in the Capital of Light provided a unique opportunity not only for Thai and foreigners alike to revive their admiration for the musical talent of the King but also for Thailand to promote its role as an observer country within lOrganisation Internationale de la Francophonie.
