This week in the War on Women: Shut your stupid ladyhole, no one cares what you think
Are you a lady with lady opinions on issues that affect ladies?
Then shut your stupid ladyhole, stupid lady, because no one cares what you think about that lady stuff. At least, that’s what the traditional media thinks, according to an analysis by The 4th Estate and shown in the infographic above.
The numbers are stark, but not exactly surprising. When it comes to coverage of issues that directly affect women, the beacons of traditional journalism—the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Sunday talk shows—clearly subscribe to the Darrell Issa school of thought: that the people best qualified to talk about women are, in fact, men.

Bishop of Sioux City calls on Christians to ‘violently oppose’ birth control
Remember that part of the Bible where Jesus says, “Blessed are the people who use violence to oppose health care policies they don’t like”? No? Well, obviously, you haven’t being paying attention, sinner.
Via Right Wing Watch, meet Bishop R. Walker Nickless, of the Sioux City, Iowa diocese, who’s here to set you straight:
You know, the power of evil is going to try any way that it can to get a hook into our world and the values that we hold as so dear and so important to us believing people. And the power of evil—the devil—can certainly look—is looking everywhere to find places where they can—where the power of evil can make a difference…

Congressman bites on Onion’s Planned Parenthood story
This just in: Louisiana Republican Rep. John C. Fleming, M.D. is tossing his hat in the ring for Dumbest Member of Congress.
Dino Grandoni at The Atlantic reports that “pro-life” Rep. Fleming M.D. posted a story from The Onion on his Facebook page, offering it as proof that Planned Parenthood offers “abortion by the wholesale.”
The satirical story from May 2011 “reported“:
Planned Parenthood announced Tuesday the grand opening of its long-planned $8 billion Abortionplex, a sprawling abortion facility that will allow the organization to terminate unborn lives with an efficiency never before thought possible …

Komen Foundation in damage control mode
Since the Susan G. Komen Foundation announced its decision to stop funding cancer screening and prevention programs at Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest provider of health care to low-income women, the foundation’s founder and CEO Nancy Brinker has been trying her best to control the damage done to the foundation’s reputation.
So far, it’s not going very well. Brinker posted a “Straight Talk” video on the foundation’s website in an attempt to defend the foundation’s decision by insisting that “some have regrettably mischaracterized” the decision, that the “scurrilous accusations being hurled at this organization are profoundly hurtful” and a “dangerous distraction” from the foundation’s mission.

The Cainwreck ends
Oh, Herman, we hardly knew ye.
In the most entertaining “I’m quitting” press conference since half-term Gov. Sarah Palin quit her job because only dead fish go with the flow, Herman Cain announced he’s dropping out of the race to spend more time sleeping on the couch.
It was fun while it lasted though, wasn’t it? So many fond memories. Herman’s “Imagine there’s no pizza” video. His “joke” about electrocuting immigrants who try to cross the border.
