About The Engine Alliance
The Engine Alliance, a 50/50 joint venture between GE and Pratt & Whitney, was formed in August 1996 to develop, manufacture, sell and support a family of modern technology engines for new high-capacity, long-range aircraft.
The Airbus A380 aircraft carries the largest payload in aviation history. With a range of 8,200 nautical miles and growth plans for even longer missions, it needs engines that set new standards for in-service reliability.
Through the incorporation of state-of-the-art advanced technologies into a solid heritage of proven products, the Engine Alliance and its member companies are dedicated to providing the most technically advanced and environmentally compatible engine for the Airbus A380.
