~Plot Synopsis~
Scorned by her father for her sinful ways, Joline Hofer leaves her child in a convent and becomes
the sensation of a Paris cabaret. She poses for Paul Granville, a poor American artist, who hence
becomes famous. Despite his reluctance to use her as a model for a painting of the Madonna, she
obtains the assignment, undergoes a spiritual transformation, is reunited with her child, and finds
happiness with the artist.
