Fulfilling a lifetime dream on Easter Island

HANDOUT PHOTO. Photo 1 3/14/2014 My husband and I in front of one of the almost 400 moai that remain in the quarry at Rano Raraku. This is where almost all of the statues on Easter Island were carved. In this location you can see statues in many different stages of completion. Some of the moai are just outlines, some are carved and just attached to the rock by a keel, and some have been detached, slid down the hill, and are awaiting transport to their final destination. Considered one of the most important sites on the island.

A couple visits Chile and Easter Island in fulfillment of a dream that began in childhood.
