Did a lot of those scenes in the Advanced Warfare trailer look familiar? Chris Watters breaks down the many games that have influenced the latest Call of Duty.
Seems like the current Call of Duty titles always ends so fast! How is Advanced Warfare already nearing O_O Just when I was getting used to it too.. Hopefully CodCoach.com covers it well when it drops so I don't suck for 5 months again like on Cod Ghosts. Smh.
honestly speaking i don't know nothing about gaming but am a blogger on christian issue, you can read your daily devotional at http://www.everydaydevotional.com/
Everyone has been breaking down this trailer over and over again since the day it came out. I don't even understand why. There is nothing to gain from the trailer. Mech suits are not original, nor will it breathe new life into the series. They need to strip it down and go back to what made the series so popular to begin with. Also, the phrase "absence makes the heart grow fonder" would probably be a good thing for them to live by. A three year cycle isn't going to help anything. We're still getting Call of Duty over and over and over again. The gameplay is worn out. A good multiplayer FPS should have a longer life span than a year. I don't understand why they don't combine forces take a couple years off and make a game that people would actually be excited for. *rant over*
It's hard to do the future thing without biting chunks out everything else that has done the future thing. I'm not seeing innovation here. Irony just tongue kissed CoD Advanced Warfare and gripped its ass.
cool tech and suits and what not. now if it would only play more like Crysis (or better yet, something even more fresh) rather than CoD. sadly, we all know it won't.
"perform a supa-dupa-cool powerjump to this location to complete this level and see another flashy cutscene".
Don't you think it's reaching to be analyzing a trailer? leave the hype train in the station. And how about a open Beta sometime soon? The games scheduled to release in 6 months, a open Beta should be right around the corner.
you know what? everything in Sci Fi millitary shooters is 99% from Aliens. without Aliens FPS would never be what it is today, maybe it wouldn't even exist.
Yeah, that was pretty much true, but come on Chris, sound at least a little more serious... I like that part of you better when it's down to business and excitement for the game, not just an attempt to sound goofy or... Something.
Can someone please explain to me the point of analysis trailers when GameSpot editors only have positive things to say about the trailer being shown? I always believed that analysis trailers was always suppose to be about editors coming together to be objective about any given trailer being shown cutting through the marketing hype. Instead these so called analysis trailers only appear to enhanced the marketing hype.
@DARREN636 it's a big franchise, it draws a lot of hits, and it literally just got a new game announced.
of course every journalist and their mom are gonna talk about it until E3 (aka the next time something interesting happens), they don't need to be on anyone's payroll for that.
@youngzen69 How was this just a positive video? It could easily be taken as a collection of all the things CoD is ripping off. The point was just to take a look at the game's influences.
Discussion
Mediocrity, still using that damn Quake 3 engine.
and let the hype machine of the presses begin
Planetside.... please... Tribes!
.. and still manages to be generic crap.
"We won't count Mission Impossible because it's not actually a game"
The first one was Elysium
it looks like about 8 hours of fun sp, and about 12 hours of fun mp... :)
You still play COD then you a bitch made bitch.
Funny commentary for the video.lol
You people are releasing too many articles for this crap, stop with the masked advertisement already.

This is a video game. They totally took inspiration from Metroid there.
That blue scanning grid is similar to Killzone: Shadow Falls orange camera scanning grid.
GODDAMN this dudes voice is annoying...
1:06 WOW Crysis 2 Look Like a movie Graphics Compare to Call of Duty Advanced Warfare trailer!

Planetside 2, it will be a while before another FPS can trump that game.
LMAO @ Chris saying P-P-P-P-POWER thumbs up! LOL
00:40 DAUMN I knew this was familiar
They should of just called it "Call of Duty: Titanfall Edition (without the titans)"

oh yes. this is so excit... *yawn*
And why not, if they do it better, good for them.. and for us :)
Super jumping and wall climbing both bear resemblance to Titanfall, going invisible was one of several Crysis suit perks.
Chris, that was good :]
"Channels" is such a nice word; I'm sure Activision won't think that negative.

Nice one they updated the Graphics and engine for the next 100 cod games:D i'm going to go kill myself quietly now....
not sure why chris shied away from cross-media "references", i don't see the problem with games taking inspiration from movies, for example.
good catch didn't notice the elysium pick up
so finally some thing new to COD series, i got bored with same gameplay so i am gonna enjoy the new gadgets and suits.
"How Call of Duty cannot be original."
We are gonna use Mech suits...because its totally original and we aren't trying to be like Titanfall.
This new call of duty- constant news updates and articles is getting a bit silly
Not to mention transparent.
you know what? everything in Sci Fi millitary shooters is 99% from Aliens. without Aliens FPS would never be what it is today, maybe it wouldn't even exist.
Nothing on the Dead Space-y vibe of the Idris Elba lookalike's suit?
Yeah, that was pretty much true, but come on Chris, sound at least a little more serious... I like that part of you better when it's down to business and excitement for the game, not just an attempt to sound goofy or... Something.
Alright, I'll watch this.
I can wait till all the cod kids play it and let me know if its any good and has no cheaters/glitchers :)

@never-named sledgehammer games did make dead space...lol
@youngzen69 How was this just a positive video? It could easily be taken as a collection of all the things CoD is ripping off. The point was just to take a look at the game's influences.
@youngzen69 There are different types of analysis'. This analysis was to see what inspired the game not whether or not the trailer was good or bad.
@Kisalon @billlabowski Call of Duty 4, the first one for xbox 360. Was blazing original and amazing.
@BrunoBRS @DARREN636Yup I took a look at all their mom's twitter accounts :).
@jayd02 Very accurate
