Today marks one full week in Southeast Asia! The time has been passing by fast, but it also feels like we’ve spent much more than a week here.
In the morning, I took an hour to visit some of the . . . → Read More: Ho Chi Minh and Siem Reap

Before going to sleep, I was pretty hungry, so I head out to see what kind of food there was in the area. There wasn’t much in the immediate area, so I walked toward the center of town. There were a couple of slutty-dressed women in front of a shady looking bar that yelled . . . → Read More: Arriving in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon)

At dawn, we woke up, packed up our things and waited in the lobby for our tour guide. We left our luggage with Novotel, but one of our locks was either broken by airport security or was lost somehow. We asked the reception where we could buy one, and they just asked one of . . . → Read More: Nha Trang, Day Two

After lunch, we headed back to Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum and walked around the area. We walked down to the war museum, which was closed, so we couldn’t see too much of interest except for a collection of smashed plane parts, tanks, and howitzers. Unfortunately the camera’s battery died at this point so we . . . → Read More: Second day in Hanoi, Continued

Last night, we were pretty hungry, so we went to eat at the only restaurant around: A Japanese place on the 4th floor. The place was actually pretty authentic in its atmosphere; even the little Vietnamese waitresses could speak Japanese. The prices were extremely expensive though, and we were not full at all.

Yesterday, we started out the day by washing up and then going to the resident’s lounge on the 22nd floor. They have open terraces up here, a massage chair (which doesn’t work), free coffee & tea, and one computer terminal where one can use the Internet. . . . → Read More: Waking up on the other side of the world

As we arrived at my cousin’s place, we called him to come down and bring us up, since he lives in one of those luxury condo-hotel places. The one he lives in is called Somerset. In the lobby, we even saw our flight attendants checking in at the reception; I guess it’s the closest . . . → Read More: Arriving at the Somerset
