"Where I live around no one's pressured me to be Wayne Gretzky's daughter. Where my parents have brought me up my entire life no one's pressured me, and now I think is the time to show that I have talent as well as my family and they've just brought me up so well." -Paulina Gretzky
Paulina Gretzky is at first famous by association: Her father is legendary hockey player Wayne Gretzky. But thanks to her Twitter photo feed, she's really made a name for herself.
SEX APPEAL
Paulina's become quite a stunner in recent years, as we were conveniently reminded when she posted some sexy photos on Twitter in November 2011. Honestly, she has nothing to be ashamed of, and we're a little disappointed that her dad made her shut her account down, according to rumors. Not every woman can pull off a sexy Twitpic. Thankfully, the account was reactivated shortly after, and has since been supplemented with an Instagram account.
SUCCESS
Paulina Gretzky's success, as modest as it has been, has been due to a fortunate combination of good looks, talent and a famous family. She's released an album, appeared in a small handful of movies and, after having maintained a sexy Twitpic feed, generated more interest than ever by heeding her dad's advice and taking down all the seductive photos. Who says parents shouldn't be obeyed once you're an adult?

She's once again made headlines this summer for doing what she does best: posting almost-naked photos of herself on the internet. But who knows, maybe she's about to make it, well, even bigger. According to her Twitter feed, she plays a part in the upcoming Grown Ups sequel, Grown Ups 2 ("Fun day on Set of Grown Ups 2 @KimberlyAlexisH").

Paulina Gretzky Biography

Paulina Mary Jean Gretzky was born December 19, 1988 in Los Angeles. She is the eldest of the five children raised by hockey superstar Wayne Gretzky and his wife, actress Janet Jones. Growing up in La-La-land with famous parents made dreams of stardom inevitable, and after her family moved to New York City in 1997, she quickly found her way into The American Ballet Theater School. There she was taught acting, and given all of the ballerinas, probably learned of the importance of a controlled eating disorder as well.

Paulina Gretzky's profile rises

In 2000, she made a screen debut of sorts with a small role the short film In God We Trust. She was only 12 and short films don’t exactly set the world on fire, but it did at least give her a taste of working in the entertainment industry. At 15 she made her television and singing debut at the NHL’s Heritage Classic weekend. It was an alumni game for 8,000 people. She the sang again on game day, belting out Sarah McLachlan’s “I Will Remember You” to a stadium packed with 57,000 fans, and she received a standing ovation. She also sung the Canadian national anthem at the 2004 World Cup Of Hockey in Toronto.

Unfortunately, you can’t make a singing career out of hockey-related appearances alone, so she released her first single “Collecting Dust” in 2006, which got a fair amount of radio play after some  Laguna Beach exposure. However, Paulina has yet to record a follow up single or an album.

She appears to have switched her focus on acting most recently, following up her brief appearance in the 2009 Fame movie with a role in the thriller Guns, Girls, And Gambling starring Gary Oldman, Christian Slater, and Dane Cook. She was one of the “girls” in that equation, appearing as “The Deputy.”

Paulina Gretzky quits Twitter

On November 29, 2011, Paulina Gretzky received the most attention of her career after shutting down her Twitter account, which had received a great deal of attention once her sexy photos started popping up on sites theCHIVE and Coed.com. Her final tweet was "Having a nice sit-down dinner with my dad about social media..haha #SIKEEE (sic)," so it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why the account was temporarily taken down. However, considering that Paulina’s mother once posed for Playboy, the occasional Twitter booty pic doesn’t seem all that bad. Since her initial Twitter fame, Paulina has stayed somewhat under the radar -- at least until mid-June, 2012, when she made headlines again for posting a photo of herself on Twitter in an itsy-bity green bikini.

It almost definitely won’t be the last time we see Paulina scantily clad. At this point, it’s just a question of where and when.
