Recovery in Post-War Europe was slow. But by the 1960s, the wheels were turning again.

Many of the great houses and collections were now in public hands, in some cases given, in others seized. Business, now focused in London and Paris, had to be regenerated.

In the 1960s new avenues were explored. Together, the British and French banks committed themselves to further developing their new operation in the USA which was eventually to become Rothschild Inc. In London, N M Rothschild & Sons took an early role in the new Eurobond markets.

The increasing focus on the management of corporate and personal assets also led, in 1973, to the creation of a new asset management wing of the N M Rothschild group, which was to go on to develop a worldwide reach. Today, this is manifested in the London-based Rothschild Private Management Limited.
