Thanks for all those links. Something that occurs to me about this article is that people are no longer given the time or opportunity to normalise their thinking as best they can in their situation.
Most of us need dreams of a better or different life. With first denials and then revelations of abusive situations, people are no longer left alone to dream. Even dreams and fantasies are organised. Could the main danger to perpetrators be that victims, and now everyone, are never left alone to normalise, put things together, or just dream?
Below is an extract written by a survivor of sexual abuse which did not include mind control, except threats to himself and family which were bad enough:
‘One thing why the Jimmy Savile sexual abuse affected so many like myself is far too much was kept secret. It’s like being robbed. No justice. I and others felt the pain of victims of Jimmy Savile. The worst is trying to live with the fact that monsters who abuse have broken our bodies for ever. Sexual abuse pain is like no other and is there for our lives. The only people who can understand or help are people who have to live 7 days a week of nightmares, reminders.’
Note: Sometimes it seems the aim of his abusers was to make sure he never got a chance to forget. Now he can’t even normalise what perhaps he could have done prior to the Jimmy Savile saga. As he says – No justice.
