Diamonds are truly one of nature’s most precious and beautiful creations. They are formed from pure carbon that is crystallized under intense heat and pressure deep below the earth’s surface. Although diamonds are the world’s hardest substance, their appeal goes far beyond their durability. | Over the years, diamond professionals have developed universally standardized criteria for assessing a diamond’s value. Beauty, rarity and price depend on the interplay of the four Cs: cut, clarity, color and carat. Diamonds with the highest rating in each of these categories are increasingly rare and more expensive. No one characteristic is more important than another in terms of appearance and quality. |
Cut refers to the the make of the diamond — the angles, proportion and symmetry. A well-cut diamond reflects maximum light and thus sparkles the best. Cut can also refer to the shape of the diamond. Shapes include round, oval, emerald, asscher, heart, square, pear, marquis, princess, trilliant and radiant. La Collection de Bijoux uses diamonds shaped round-brilliant, heart and pear. | The 58-facet round-brilliant cut is the most optically brilliant because of its 360-degree symmetrical shape. The complex heart shape is the ultimate symbol of love, and requires skilled cutting to ensure proper brilliance. The stately marquise shape is a boat-shaped modified brilliant. Originated at the behest of Louis XIV, the marquise shape maximizes carat weight, yielding a larger-looking diamond. The fancy pear-shaped cut is also a variation on the round-brilliant cut, with one round end and the other tapered to a point, like a teardrop. |
Clarity refers to the presence of internal inclusions (“blemishes”) in a diamond. It indicates a stone’s relative position on a “purity” scale.
Clarity | Description |
FL | Flawless: no internal or external flaws |
IF | Internally flawless: no internal flaws |
VVS1, VVS2 | Very, very slight inclusions: inclusions very difficult to see under 10X magnification |
VS1, VS2 | Very slight inclusions: inclusions are not typically visible to the unaided eye |
SI1, SI2, SI3 | Slight inclusions: inclusions are visible under 10x magnification and may be visible with the unaided eye |
I1, I2, I3 | Included: inclusions that are visible to the naked eye |
Color refers to the degree to which a diamond is colorless. The less color in a diamond, the better the diamond grade.

Who do I contact if I want to purchase one of the collars?
Please contact our Los Angeles office at 888-456-8966. Our General Manager, Martha Smith, will answer any questions you have.
Where are the diamonds for the collars sourced?
All diamonds are sourced from a reputable jeweler with whom we have had a long-standing relationship. All of the diamonds come from responsible and ethical mines.
How can I be assured that the diamonds are of high quality?
The majority of the diamonds in each collar are issued a GIA Certificate. The GIA (Gemology Institute of America) is the world’s most trusted name in diamond grading and gemstone identification.
Do I need to pay for the collar in full at the time of purchase?
We require a 50 percent deposit to start the customization process. The remaining balance is due upon receipt of the finished collar.
Why might the final price vary from what is stated on this website?
The final price of your collar may be more or less than what is stated on this site due to the customization process. The final price is also dependant on the actual weight of the stones, tailoring the length of the collar for your dog and your option to personally design your collar by selecting unique gems.
Will I have to pay sales tax on the collar?
If you are a California resident, you will be subject to sales tax as levied by the state of California. If you are an out-of-state resident, and the jewelry is delivered to you by courier service, you’re not required to pay any sales tax.
Are the collars kept in stock?
Each collar is custom-fitted with the option of tailoring the design to your tastes, hence we do not keep any in stock. We do, however, have samples available for viewing.
Who will customize the collar to fit my dog?
We will work closely with you on the design, stones, style and adjustment during the customization process, making sure your specific needs and requirements are met. As soon as the deposit is received, we’ll be happy to do an in-person fitting.
How long does it take to produce a collar?
The process takes approximately 8 to 12 weeks. If you choose to tailor the collar in any way, such as upgrading one of the gems, the production time could be extended.
Will the collar be delivered to me upon completion?
We will arrange a secure courier service to deliver to you.
I am retailer and would like to carry the collars. How do I do that?
At this time, we are not working with outside retailers; however, we do have a referral program. For more information, please contact our General Manager, Martha Smith at 888-456-8966.
I live in Europe, how do I get a collar?
We are working with a German affiliate. Please see www.picouture.de for details.
I’m a stylist, TV show producer or member of the press. Can a collar be made available for my project?
Yes, collars can be made available for film projects or press events. However, due to the expense associated with showing them, there will be a showing fee. Please contact our General Manager, Martha Smith at 888-456-8966.
I want to do a story on the diamond collars. How do I get high resolution images, an interview or both?
Please contact our General Manager, Martha Smith at 888-456-8966 for details.
