To mark the start of this year's Tour de France in Yorkshire, Guardian cycling correspondent William Fotheringham rode the most scenic section of the first stage with Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy. The route wends through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, through Wensleydale and up over the Buttertubs Pass, one of two King Of The Mountains climbs the race will tackle on the first day.
