Dot Records has announced the two-female duo Maddie & Tae as the inaugural act on the new Big Machine Label Group imprint.

General Manager Chris Stacey says, “I am thrilled and honored that Maddie & Tae will be the first act to be released on Dot Records! They are phenomenally talented young ladies who have captured a sound that is unique in today’s Country Music landscape and I believe that they will send a message to the world that can’t be denied.”

Maddie & Tae are both eighteen years old and come from Texas and Oklahoma, respectively. The two grew up performing in similar circles, eventually catching the attention of Big Machine Music Vice President MikeMolinar and staff writer/producer Aaron Scherz. A mere three days after graduating high school last June, Maddie & Tae moved to Nashville for a development “summer camp,” eventually earning a full Big Machine Music publishing contract and soon coming to the attention of Big Machine Label Group President and CEO Scott Borchetta. The duo cites the Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain, and Lee Ann Womack as influences.

“Two years ago we took a picture outside the building as we imagined one day signing with the incredible label. Now, it feels completely surreal to have our wildest dreams become reality. We are in awe of being the first artist to help launch the legendary Dot Records and excited to kick off this journey with the amazing BMLGfamily!” shared Maddie & Tae.

Maddie & Tae will hit Country Radio this summer with their Dot Records debut single "Girl In A Country Song." Keep up to date with the duo via their Twitter account @maddieandtae.
