How has life changed post Splitsvilla? Ask winners of the reality show Shraddha Haribhai and Vishal Karwal
|
Lasting love Shraddha and Vishal have liked each other right from the beginning of Splitsvilla
After all the back-biting, mud-slinging, politics and drama, “Splitsvilla” has finally come to an end with some contestants bitter about their loss and a few criticising the show for its lack of ethics. But the only ones not complaining a
re 23-year-old Shraddha Haribhai and 22-year-old Vishal Karwal, winners of the show on MTV. The winning couple, who claim to have liked each other right from the beginning of “Splitsvilla”, will now become MTV’s first couple VJ. Shraddha was impressed with Vishal’s “simplicity, sincerity, ambitious, yet grounded nature”. Vishal says, “I liked Shraddha because she wasn’t like the other girls who were more interested in the camera than the guys.”
So how has life changed post “Splitsvilla”? “I have the new show to look forward to, which Vishal and I will be hosting and it is scheduled to go on air in a month’s time. Apart from that, ‘Splitsvilla’ has given me Vishal and now I have somebody in my life to look forward to,” gushes Shraddha, who hails from South Africa and has undergone training in acting at the Lee Strasburg film and theatre institute, New York. As for her better half Vishal, the boy from Himachal who did a pilot training course in Texas, not only does he have the show from MTV to look forward to but also offers from Sony and ZEE TV. “I haven’t taken up any offer yet and plan to take my pilot exams in October,” he says.
Talking about “Splitsvilla”, Shraddha says: “You never know what to expect even in the next five minutes. I survived till the end because I avoided the politics and back-biting. I only gave my opinion when asked for it and I was open to love.” Surprisingly, the two also made some really good friends on the show. “You can make friends on these shows but it’s difficult to have lasting friendships.” When asked about the flak the show drew for its format and the girls appearing overtly flirty and desperate to get the guy, both the winners were quick to defend it saying that the contestants were put in certain situations and it was entirely their way of dealing with them and the show couldn’t be blamed for it.
