When Mark Teixeira hangs up his cleats for good, a TV gig may not be ideal for him, unless it's Saturday Night Live.
The YES Network has been airing a mock TV show called "Foul Territory with Mark Teixeira" in which the Yankees' first baseman shows off his sense of humor by interviewing teammates and other media members. His interview style is similar to Zack Galifinakis in "Between Two Ferns," where he acts uncomfortably awkward with the interviewee and asks very simple questions, such as, "Do you like your job?" to YES Network reporter Jack Curry.
He also asks questions completely out of left field, like if Curry was aware Teixeira also likes coffee?
In an interview with Brian McCann, whom Teixeira played with in Atlanta, Teixeira asks if there was anyone on the 2007-08 Braves that McCann enjoyed playing with or looked up to, with the Yankees catcher rattling off just about every player but Teixeira.
Teixeira then specifies, "what about a switch hitter on that team?" McCann responds, "Chipper Jones."
While Curry isn't worried about Teixeira taking his job behind the plate, the Yankees' first baseman may have a career in comedy ahead.
