Arkansas Polling – US Senate, Governor, and Attorney General

Human Events and Gravis Marketing conducted a random survey of 987 registered voters who are likely voters in Arkansas regarding statewide candidates by automated calls to telephone numbers phone numbers on July 7th and July 8th, 2014. The poll carries a margin of error of 3%. The results follow.

Arkansas voters were surveyed about the upcoming Senatorial, Gubernatorial, Attorney General and Secretary of State races in November. Regarding the race for Senate, voters were asked. “If the election for US Senate were held today, whom would you vote for?” Poll results indicate Tom Cotton (R) holds a 7-point lead (51% to 44%) over incumbent Mark Pryor (D).

In the Gubernatorial election voters were asked, “If the election for Governor were held today, whom would you vote for?” Asa Hutchinson (R) holds a 3-point advantage (49% to 46%) over Mike Ross (D).

For the Attorney General’s race, voters were polled “If the election for Attorney General were held today, whom would you vote for?” Leslie Rutledge (R) maintains a 10-point advantage (51% to 41%) over Nate Steel (D) for the seat to be vacated by the term limited Attorney General Dustin McDaniel (D).

” The poll is very good news for the Republicans Arkansas is a must win state for the republicans if they are to take back the US Senate, Press Obama has a 32% job approval rating and it appears he could hurt moderate Democrats in the midterm elections” said Doug Kaplan, President Of Gravis Marketing

Among all respondents, Obama gathered a 32% approval rating. When one includes only likely voters, Obama’s approval rating drops to 30%.

Among all respondents, Cotton holds a 51% to 44% advantage. When one includes only likely voters, Cotton’s lead increases to 51% to 43%.

Among all respondents and only likely voters, Hutchinson holds a 49% to 46% advantage.

Among all respondents, Rutledge holds a 51% to 41% advantage. When one includes only likely voters, Rutledge’s lead increases to 51% to 40%.
