BIOGRAPHY


Councilman Peter J. Zuckerman was appointed in January 2014. Peter represents the 2nd District of the Town of North Hempstead, which includes Albertson, East Hills, East Williston, Glenwood Landing, Greenvale, Herricks, Manhasset Hills, Roslyn Harbor, Roslyn Heights and Searingtown.

Prior to serving on the Town Board, Peter served his community for eleven years as a trustee for the Village of East Hills. During his tenure, he helped oversee the development of The Park at East Hills, at the former Roslyn Air National Guard Base. The park, which was completed in 2006, contains a 12,000 square foot pool, tennis courts, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a theatre, several sports fields, and a restaurant. Also during his time as a trustee, Peter helped revamp L.O.S.A.P., or the Length of Service Awards Program, the pension system for volunteer firefighters that serve the Roslyn area. He has also represented the Village as a prosecutor in Village Court.

In his private life, Peter is an accomplished attorney, practicing in the fields of real estate and litigation. Since 2004, he has been a partner in the Uniondale-based firm of Peter Zuckerman, Attorney, P.C. Peter formerly served as General Counsel to Century 21 Laffey Associates in Greenvale and currently provides legal services to the Professional Standards Committee of the Long Island Board of Realtors when requested. He also clerked for State Supreme Court Judge Patricia Collins after college.

Peter grew up in East Hills, attended the Roslyn Schools, playing soccer and baseball for Roslyn High School. Today, he sits on the Board of Directors for the Roslyn Little League and for Roslyn Booster Basketball.

Peter is a graduate of Emory University and New York Law School. He resides in East Hills with his wife and three children.
