The Young Marrieds: Ben goes to topless bars and boffs hitch hikers because his wife Ginny (Alice Friedland) is frigid. When he buys a camera and takes pictures of her she becomes excited by the exhibitionism. Next she experiments with aggressive, then passive sexual behavior, culminating in an evening with two other swinging couples.

This is Ed Wood’s last turn in the director’s chair and was considered lost until rediscovered in 2004. It belongs in his cannon due to the voice-over narrative and the [moderate amount of] dialog, though it is strange to see Ed directing actual porno (with LOTS of BJ’s). Necromania was tame enough that it was released in two versions, but here we see Ed’s direction of the close-ups of genitalia engaged in copulation. Whoa, dude. Ed, of course, was still trying to put his finger on the essence of the human experience and get it on film for all to see.

Alice Friedland’s claim to [legitimate] fame is her role in John Cassavetes’ The Killing of a Chinese Bookie, and she was seen briefly as a stripper in the drive-in classic The Great Texas Dynamite Chase. Frequently featured in pictorials for Men’s Magazines, she was one of the many models to appear in William Rostler’s Street of a Thousand Pleasures. Her performance here is adequate, but she does have rather strange tan lines from some belly dancing outfit.

Next up is Kiss My Analyst which is a rather Avant-garde softcore (‘X’) exercise. A psychiatrist’s slightly frumpy patient recants how she was introduced to drugs and orgies all in a single night while visiting her friend Alice Friedland. Other than a few cutbacks to the therapy session the entire feature takes place in one room. We begin with an introduction to marijuana, then lesbian pleasures. Alice’s boyfriend comes in with more champagne and puts a pill in each girl’s glass. What happens next is different on screen than in the girl’s perception / narration; she says she strips and dances and turns him on but he actually never gives her a glance as his eyes are only for Alice. Nevertheless a three-way ensues and bliss is momentarily obtained until the 27:20 mark when Monica Gayle (Sandra – The Making Of A Woman) reveals she has been watching! So what can they do but spank her and then become a MFFF foursome?

Our stud is not so lucky as it seems because this is a softcore film. Apparently at one point he (not visibly) penetrates Alice and is told by the director to pull out and he laughs and blushes and changes position. Come on, he’s been pretend hunching all these babes for this all this time with no payoff other than the shag carpet? [Where's Joe Sarno when you need him?] The existing elements have red tints in place of flesh tones which could be artistic intent but are more likely due to the ravages of time. The conclusion featuring the resolution of the therapy session breaks off in mid-dialog, but that’s no big deal; this one is lots of fun.

Also of primary interest is the Diverse Industries [silent] solo loop of Alice Friedland, and this must be seen to be believed. The premise is simple; she writhes around on the rooftop of a bombed out classic car wreck wearing an abominable Morticia Adams wig. Not only does she bare it and spread it and prove her tits are real, but she actually smiles!

The other content (Analyze Your Sex, The Adventures of Flash Beavers) is of lesser interest and quality, but it’s all gravy. Alpha Blue presents another surprisingly good and comprehensive presentation which includes new film transfers of important and enjoyable adult film entertainment.
