Wisconsin Rapids, WI- July 13th, 2012.   The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are excited to announce that three players from this year's team have been selected to represent the Rafters in the 2012 Northwoods League All-Star Game.  Infielder Pat Kelly (FR, Nebraska), outfielder Alex Bacon (SO, North Florida), and right-handed pitcher Seth Fuller (FR, Western Illinois) were selected as members of the South Division team.  The All-Star Game is set to take place on Tuesday, July 24th at Warner Park in Madison, Wisconsin.

Kelly joined the Rafters this summer after completing his freshman season at Nebraska.  The 5'11", 170 pound Kelly made a quick transition to college pitching this spring and was one of the Husker's top offensive threats, as he batted .313 with eight home runs and 37 RBIs.  He was twice named Big Ten Freshman of the Week and was a third-team All-Big Ten selection. Following the spring season, Kelly was honored by being named a first-team freshman All-American by Baseball America and a freshman All-American by both Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

This summer for Wisconsin Rapids, Kelly has posted a .335 batting average (52-for-155) with eight doubles, one home run, and 23 RBIs.  His 52 hits place him in a tie for 6th most in the entire Northwoods League this season.  Kelly also leads the Rafters in hits and doubles, and ranks second on the squad in batting average and RBIs.

Bacon came to the Rafters this summer after two impressive seasons for North Florida.  The 5'9", 170 pound sophomore batted .272 with 12 doubles, six home runs, and 25 RBIs this spring.  As a freshman, Bacon batted .352 with 46 runs scored, 18 doubles, nine home runs, and 42 RBIs.  In addition, he also led the team with 22 multiple hit games and 12 multiple RBI contests.  Bacon has garnered numerous accolades for his performance on the diamond including being named Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Year, Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-American.

This summer Bacon leads the Rafters with a .358 batting average, seven home runs, and 24 RBIs.  His seven home runs tie him for third most in the Northwoods League this season.  He has compiled these impressive numbers while missing 11 games due to an elbow injury and another four with a knee injury.

Fuller, a 6'3", 195 pound freshman, just finished his spring season with Western Illinois University.  In 10 relief appearances, he posted a 1-1 record, with three saves, and a 4.61 ERA for the Leathernecks.

Since joining the Rafters, Fuller has been one of manager Jake Martin's best late-inning options out of the bullpen.  In 17 relief appearances, Fuller has posted a 5-1 record with five saves and stingy 1.33 ERA.  In 27 innings of work he has struck out 25 batters while only walking four.  Fuller's five wins currently rank him second in the entire Northwoods League and his five saves rank him sixth in the league.
