Coalition Claims Climate Change "It’s Actually A Good Thing"
"In fact we are seeing a ‘greening,’ where deserts are actually retreating, forests are expanding, and we're seeing more habitat for wildlife," explained Harris. "It's actually a good thing that this kind of climate change is occurring."
Focusing on carbon dioxide, which according to Harris is not a pollutant, is in fact counterproductive.
"Focusing on CO2 is a mistake because ... you actually increase real pollution [when you do]. And a good illustration of that is when they want to bury carbon dioxide underground," Harris said. "That is an enormous mistake, and yet, North America ¬– Canada, the United States are spending billions of dollars on this because they think they can help stop climate change by burying CO2."
The trouble is, if you do that, it takes a lot of energy to compress it and to pipe it to locations where you put it underground, which according to Harris "…of course, increases pollution and reduces energy efficiency," the analyst added.
