My Branding Win

In my local community, I have been frequenting a frozen yogurt place called Yogurtology. I really love this place because they have great yogurt flavors and topping choices and because my son will go with me and talk (because I buy him some yogurt). At some point I gave them my email address which I rarely do when it comes to local businesses. I get enough emails.  I hardly ever received an email from this company until recently. Then a couple of months ago, I received a letter via email announcing that Yogurtology was going through a branding change and were implementing a contest. This was a mass email to the local community email list. I ignored the first email.

Then it arrived again.  This time I paid attention.  Yogurtology was asking folks to offer up suggestions for a name change and the prize was one year of free yogurt. Well I like froyo a lot and my son loves this place, so I thought I would compete for the big prize. With all of my marketing experience, I knew I had a little something to offer, so I began brainstorming. After jotting down about 15-20 different names, I submitted them to the company via email.

About a month later I received a letter that said I won a free year of yogurt for winning the contest! I was one of 9 winners who came up with the same name.  How cool is that?

Swirls…that's the new name! Swirls "Magic in a Cup". Isn't that great? I usually swirl my yogurt; how about you?

Hey there, next time you get an opportunity to provide your marketing know how and passion, give it a go! You might win something that brings you a lot of joy – like conversations with your young, adult son over a heaping helping of frozen yogurt!

That's my new punch card to redeem my free yogurt for a year!  Thanks for letting me share my good news with you.  :)
