Jean Marcel has finally been finished. His rules are set and he rides upon his noble steed known as Skie. Fighting for Justice, Glory and Honor, he prepares to smite all enemies before him. This is the character Jean Marcel. Enjoy!

Jean Marcel L'Impéteux

The Impetuous knight of the Holy lands of Bretonnia is an up and coming legend among knights. A true knight that long ago began his quest, it is said his family was diminished by the foul chaos Gods and has since vowed to protect Bretonnia against anything that may do harm to it. He sometimes carries the lance of his homeland of L'Anguille. It is said it to have pierced many of the foul possessed bodies of evil, laying thousands on the ground to drown in their own blood in his wake.

He is said to carry a sword twice the size of a man, but it has just been said as Bretonnian lore among the peasant rabbles.  Many stories tell of how he was outnumbered and fought off the vile enemy. One specific tale tells of him and a Knight Errant in a tavern in Couronne. When jumped by over 7 Dark Elf assassins, his very blade killed off 3 and a 4th by his knife.

His skill is without doubt, and his coming can be told by the shadow on the ground as people look up into the sky to see his faithful Pegasus he rides upon, Skie. A noble and strong Pegasus that has served him since a young age, and has saved Jean Marcel many times in battle let it be by flying him away while he is wounded or by his very hooves crushing the skulls of the enemy.

Jean Marcel L'Impéteux- Rules and Stats

Special Rules

Impetuous- Jean is affected by the Impetuous rule described on page 48 of the Bretonnian Army Book.

Leader of L'Anguille- Jean, being a natural leader, can lend his leadership to any unit or character within 8" of him at all times unless he is the Army's leader in which case within 14"

Stubborn- Jean's Iron will sets him apart from other knights, he counts as being stubborn

Hates Chaos- The foul creatures of the Northlands have killed his family and for that Jean counts as having hatred against foes from the Hordes of Chaos and Beasts of Chaos army books.

Potent Blessing- The Lady has blessed him so he may not fall in battle. Jean counts as having the Virtue of Purity. Only applicable if he uses the Grail Vow

Strike of the Faithful- His mighty great sword can be wielded in such a devastating way like no other, cleaving even through the mightiest of armor, some have even heard it crashes down upon magic like water on stone. All enemies struck by Jean's swing must re-roll all or any saves. This includes Ward saves, Armor saves, and Regeneration saves. Only applicable if he uses the Questing Vow

Magic Items

Black Lance of L'Anguille- The Lance confers +2 strength on the charge. The lance has shed thousands of layers of blood upon it and is feared by all the hated foes of the Old World. All enemies are subject to fear from Jean if they are in sight of his Lance. Only applicable if he uses the Grail Vow

The Marcel Family Great sword-  This Great sword has seen many battles from the Marcel family; he wields it like a normal blade. Acts as a great weapon. After the first round of combat, Jean is not subjected to the strikes last rule. Only applicable if he uses the Questing Vow

The Lady's Symbol-
After Jean charges into battle, the symbol of the Lady he wears around his neck glows with a mighty light. In the second round of combat he receives +1 strength for that round.

Alexander Marcel's Armor- Counts as heavy armor, this armor was the same worn by his very own father. A headstrong warrior who could kill thousands alone in single combat. When against any enemy alone, Jean receives +1 Attack and +1 intiative.

Special Rules

Fly- Skie follows all rules for flyers on page 106 of the Warhammer Rulebook

Champion of Pegasi- Skie gets +1 Initiative on the turn after the charge

Fly to Safety- If Jean is mounted on Skie and in combat, he may opt to fly directly out of combat. The enemy stays put where they were and Jean loses the Blessing of the Lady and takes one immediate wound with no saves allowed.

Barded to the Teeth- With many years being with his Pegasus, and much training with him to be taught to lift heavy weights, Skie counts as being barded, therefore giving Jean an unmodified 3+ Armor Save.
