ABSTRACT
The article informs that Roche Holding AG's bid to take over Illumina Inc. for 5.7 billion dollar has been unanimously rejected by the board of the latter firm. It has been informed that William Rastetter and Jay Flatler, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Illumina respectively, wrote to Franz Humer, Roche's board chairman, that their proposal fails to compensate stockholders of the firm for the intrinsic and scarcity value associated with its unmatched leadership position.
