ArtHeart For Rwanda Bands: Boxwood & Corey Bost

Very soon, ArtHeart For Rwanda will be upon us with over 35 artists, 4 bands, 3 DJs, drinks by Riverside Market, and raffle prizes by Jerry’s Artarama (make sure to hit ’join’ on the event page). If you missed the previous post, check out the blog post on the other bands The Bows & ties and Keith Welsh.

The second round of bands for our November 16th event include a new act to ArtHeart (Boxwood) and a veteran act (Corey Bost):

Boxwood (Hollywood, FL)

Boxwood Dino

Boxwood is a solo project by Broward’s Jose Ferrer that mimics a multi-member band. By utilizing a variety of loop pedals, he’s able to take samples of his guitar riffs, vocals, and drums while he’s performing. He’s kind of like a musical magician. Recently, he’s played some solid gigs which included New York’s CBGB Fest (My Morning Jacket, Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr, Atlas Genius) and the inaugural One Man Band Festival in Montreal (read his entertaining blog post regarding his experience on FTL Collective).

Corey James Bost is a talented singer/songwriter that writes and performs deep-felt, well-crafted music. Corey plays a big part in the FTL culture scene through his work at C&I Studios (and soon to be new bar/coffee shop appropriately called Next Door) and as a member of other well-known acts Kids, Civilian, and feel good band The Campfires (?).  If you’re a fan of Ben Gibbard, Kevin Devine, Dustin Kensrue, Straylight Run, or Damien Rice, you’ll connect with Corey’s music.
