The MND Charter - One Year On

We are thrilled to announce that we have had great success with our MND Charter since it was lCharter Eventsaunched one year ago.

The five-point document promotes quality of life, dignity and respect for people living with motor neurone disease and their carers.

It has attracted over 10,000 signatures so far and has been endorsed by several leading professional organisations, hundreds of politicians and many national celebrities.

The Association’s Royal Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, also showed her support by attending and speaking at an event to thank volunteers who have helped to promote the Charter and contribute to its success.

The MND Charter has also led the way in the formation of a united, international campaign to promote the rights of people with MND and their carers worldwide. On 21 June this year, Global MND Awareness Day 2013, a ‘global family of MND/ALS Charters’ was launched.

We are working hard to develop the next phase of our MND Charter campaign, which aims to ensure that local decision makers and frontline health and social care professionals deliver the goals set out in the document.

Check our campaigns website and Facebook Page for further updates. In the meantime, please continue to promote the Charter and encourage everyone you know to sign up in support by sharing the link: www.mndassociation.org/mndcharter.
