Pete Radovich, Creative Director for american CBS television, a regular guest of Weekend Media Festival, has won another Emmy, the most prestigious american TV award. This is the 22nd Emmy for this American of Croatian descent – an incredible success even for american standards.

Radovich won this prestigious award for his first report for the cult american show "60 Minutes", entitled "Football Island" – about a tendency of the tiny Samoa island to produce many extraordinary players of american football, who then go on to play for american  College and professional NFL leagues. The report received the award in the category “Outstanding Feature Story in a News Magazine”. 

"Out of all my awards, this one is certainly the biggest surprise, it is the most exciting and the most important. "60 Minutes" is probably the most important show in modern american television history. I am still in shock,“ said Pete. 

Pete received the award immediately after returning from Rovinj and Weekend Media Festival, for which he said:  "As someone who has been lucky to travel the world and take part in some of the biggest events on the global level, I can sincerely say that Weekend Media Festival is a great refreshment and the most entertaining event that I have attended in the last few years. More often than not, there are parties at various events I attend, people from all over the world socialize with each other, but there is also a lot of posing – people are there because they have to be there, they have to be seen at a certain event. Their motives are rarely honest. The atmosphere in Rovinj, however, is electric, fun and genuinely joyful. I absolutely enjoyed every minute I spent there."

 

Radovich held a lecture entitled „America vs. The Region“ with Executive Director of the athletic conference of the biggest university in the world – CUNYAC Žarko Zak Ivković at Weekend Media Festival 2011. Last year, Weekend Media Festival was host to 3.500 participants from Croatia and other countries of the region, but also guests from Europe, America and Japan.
