Today’s highs in the mid-60s to near 70 felt decidedly warm following our recent chilly spell. It’s as warm we’ll be for a while. The next in our series of autumn cold fronts brings a bit of rain and a reinforcing shot of cooler air on Thursday.

Through Tonight: If you’ve been yearning for a mild evening after recent days, don’t miss out on this one. Temps only slowly drift into the 50s as we go, reaching lows in the low-to-mid 50s or so. Odds of showers are up after midnight (nearing 50% by dawn), but anything overnight should be isolated and pretty light.

Tomorrow (Thursday): As the cold front approaches, showers become likely during the morning. Either numerous showers or a period of light rain may then continue into the early afternoon before things shift off to the east prior to evening. Temperatures should be moderated by the rain, and fall off during the afternoon. That means morning highs near 60 or a bit above seem the best bet. Winds also become gusty out of the northwest late.
