Fourth of July Weekend Means Fireworks, Food, Fun and Family … and Discomfort!

by boiron on July 2nd, 2010

The four best parts of the Fourth of July celebration are fireworks, food, fun and family. So what are the four worst parts? How about sunburn, muscle aches, indigestion and the morning of the 5th? As most of us hit the road, the beaches and the pools this weekend, we’ll most likely suffer from one of those four complaints at some point. But don’t let your burnt skin or rumbling tummy keep you from having a good time. You can use one or all of these Boiron products to stay happy and healthy all weekend.

Sunburn can happen with 15 minutes of sun exposure especially if you are not wearing sun block or protective clothing. To soothe your sunburn, apply Calendula Lotion. Its moisturizing effect and ease of application makes it ideal for covering large surfaces. If it’s not sunburn that’s making you wince, but a rough game of beach volleyball, Arnicare Gel can relieve muscle aches and stiffness, and reduce pain, swelling and bruise discoloration. This non-sticky, non-greasy gel is absorbed quickly by the skin and has no odor.

If an upset stomach is your problem, try Acidil or the single medicine, Nux vomica – both are great solutions after a weekend of overindulging that brings on heartburn and indigestion. And for those of you whose stomach woes are caused by motion sickness or too much time in the car, Boiron offers Cocculus indicus as your go-to single medicine for dizziness, nausea and vomiting. For longer trips, our JetLag CareKit offers a selection of single medicines, Nux, Cocculus and Arnica montana, to relieve drowsiness, sleep pattern disturbance and muscle pains that are usually associated with air travel.

No matter what unpleasantries you may suffer from this weekend, Boiron medicines are there to relieve the bad and restore the good, so be sure to keep these on hand for your holiday festivities! From everyone here at Boiron, we wish you and your family a safe and healthy Fourth of July!
