Boiron USA Proudly Supports Big Brothers Big Sisters Event

by boiron on October 28th, 2011

Over 800 guests from the entertainment and corporate worlds will attend Big Brothers Big Sisters’ 2011 Rising Stars Gala tonight at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. The gala is the largest fundraiser of the year for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles, and to date, the event has raised over $9 million to support the organization’s mentoring programs. Guests at the red carpet event will enjoy a silent auction, a hosted cocktail hour, a seated formal dinner and entertainment. The gala, hosted by Ricki Lake and special guest star Tyra Banks, will honor three very special contributors to the arts: Nancy Josephson, Kenny Ortega and Sandra Bilson. Boiron USA is proud to be part of this charitable event and has donated a large gift basket of homeopathic medicines to the silent auction.

About BBBS of Greater Los Angeles: Walt Disney and Meredith Willson founded Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles in 1955 to help ensure the well-being of boys growing up without fathers in Los Angeles. The Big Sisters Program was founded in 1972 under the umbrella of a public social service agency. In order to strengthen and expand services to significantly more disadvantaged youth, the two agencies merged on July 1, 2001, to become Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. Today, BBBSLAIE is one of the largest affiliates of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, based on the number of children and youth served, the number of volunteer mentors, and the size of its service area (Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties). They serve more than 1,500 at-risk children and youth (aged 6-18) from Los Angeles, San Gabriel, and Riverside counties, matching each child with carefully-screened, professionally-supported adult volunteer mentors.
