Connecticut's Tina Charles continued an eventful week on Friday, winning the John R. Wooden Award.

She beat Huskies teammate Maya Moore by one point in the closest voting in the award's history.

Charles helped UConn to a second straight national championship on Tuesday. She was selected first by the Connecticut Sun in the WNBA draft on Thursday.

Charles averaged more than 18 points and nine rebounds while leading UConn to an NCAA Division I-record 78 straight victories over the past two seasons.
