TURN IT ON HAMILTON

Tim-PotocicAs chair of the Hamilton JUNO Host Committee, I invite you to join us in Hamilton, Ontario in March 2015 for the 44th annual JUNO Awards. The week promises to be an electrifying celebration of Canadian music, and Hamilton is ready to Turn It On.

Strong, grounded and fearlessly outspoken, Hamilton has always done things its own way, always stood apart. Now our city stands squarely in the spotlight as an emerging artistic mecca. Hamilton’s cultural renaissance is real, it is growing, and it has given the streets new vibrancy.

City officials have embraced the arts through culture-forward economic development policy, arts-centric tourism strategies, refreshed arts funding and the creation of an office exclusively dedicated to the city’s eclectic music scene. Hamilton hums with newfound energy and enthusiasm, and the city is positively amped about hosting the 2015 JUNOS.

Hamilton is renowned for its dynamic music scene and the city has launched more than its share of musical legends. The city gave rise to Juno Award-winning artists like The Arkells, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Caribou, Daniel Lanois, Monster Truck, Steve Strongman and many, many more.

A deeply multi-cultural city, Hamilton is home to numerous professional dance and theatre companies, award-winning visual artists and countless galleries, including the exceptional Art Gallery of Hamilton.

The Hamilton JUNO Host Committee thanks The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the Province of Ontario and the City of Hamilton for their support in bringing the JUNOS to our city.

We are honoured that Hamilton has been chosen to host next year’s JUNOS and look forward to being Canada’s music destination for 2015. All of us are ready to proudly Turn It On so that visitors from across the country and around the world can celebrate music in true Hamilton style.
