One Direction's second album, 'Take Me Home', scores big all over the world!
This is the second time the boy band has made music history! Now, the guys hold the title of the first British band to have both their freshman and sophomore albums debut at #1 in Canada and the US. 'Take Me Home' has taken the number one spot on the Canadian Nielsen SoundScan and Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart. Their debut album, ‘Up All Night,’ also made #1 in the Billboard Top 200 Album chart, entered SoundScan and became two times platinum in Canada!
‘Take Me Home’ is a big album for One Direction. Not only did the album break US iTunes pre-order records, but ‘Take Me Home’ also came #1 in charts in over 32 countries including Singapore, UK, United States, Australia, United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, Thailand, Belgium, Taiwan, Denmark, Philippines, Greece, Korea, Holland, Japan, Ireland, Indonesia, Israel, Hong Kong, Norway, Venezuela, Portugal, Peru, Sweden, Switzerland, Mexico, Ecuador, Turkey, Columbia, Argentina and Chile!
“Live While We’re Young,” was the greatest hitting single from ‘Take Me Home’ and sold more than 341,000 in the United States in its first week!
One Direction will be hitting the tour trail next year and making a few stops in Canada! The Canadian tour dates include: Montreal on July 4, Toronto on July 9 and 10 and Vancouver on July 27. During their tour, One Direction will be documenting their journey to give fans a peek into their lives with the upcoming release of their 3D concert film!
