We are pleased to announce that the IB Diploma Program ceremony honoring ISA’s May Session 2014 IB Diploma and IB Course Certificate students will be held in the Auditorium this Friday, December 19th, 2014. All will also be welcome to attend a program by the Islamic Studies Department afterwards about Isa (Jesus) in the Quran with guest speaker Jouhary Abdul-Malik from 11:30-12:30 in the ISA Auditorium. The Jummah prayer will be held at 1:00PM. We look forward to your presence.
Visitors to ISA
On Wednesday 5th of December, The Baldwin School, a premier independent school in Puerto Rico visited ISA to meet with students, faculty and administrators. The International Baccalaureate Organization recommended that The Baldwin School visit 4 schools in the Washington DC Metro Area and suggest that we be one of them.
Exploring the Brain
The IB Psychology classes have been learning about the correlation between localized brain functions and behavior. They worked in teams to construct models of the brain made from Play-Do. Their teacher, Dr. Cindy Waddell, explained that using a hands-on approach to student learning helps reinforce key concepts. In the pictures, you can distinguish the parts of the brain by the different colors used by the student teams.
Arabic Poetry Contest
Congratulations, to all the boys who beautifully recited Arabic poetry on Monday, December 8th. A special regard for those who won in the Elementary, Middle, and High School Levels.
