Community Delivery Organizations

WorldHost training is offered throughout British Columbia via a network of Community Delivery Organizations.

How to get Licensed for WorldHost Training

Community Delivery Organizations can be licensed to deliver WorldHost training by successfully winning a Request for Proposal (RFP) for their respective community. Please check the B.C. Bid website to see if WorldHost Training Services, Destination British Columbia is seeking a Delivery Organization in your area.

Fees

The cost to become a WorldHost Community Delivery Organization for a five year renewable term is $375 (plus tax).

Who May Apply?

WorldHost Community Delivery Organizations may be a function of a Chamber of Commerce, an employment re-training program, or even part of the services offered by a visitor centre.

Responsibilities

Each organization is responsible for selecting a program coordinator and identifying individuals that will make great trainers. In addition, Community Delivery Organizations must commit to delivering at least two WorldHost workshops per year.

WorldHost workshops help Community Delivery Organizations achieve success by:

  • Certifying trainers through proven Train-the-Trainer sessions
  • Providing a thorough orientation for participants that covers effective program administration and operations
  • Providing workshop training collateral
  • Helping participants develop promotional marketing and sales materials
  • Conducting community trainer evaluations to maintain quality standards
  • Collaborating with and supporting community stakeholders at public events.

High Schools

Approximately 100 high schools in B.C. offer WorldHost customer service training as part of their Tourism programs. Enrolment for high schools to become part of the WorldHost Network is managed through B.C.’s Ministry of Education. Teachers must attend day one of the Fundamentals Train-the-Trainer session to become certified. Training materials can be ordered through Crown Publications.

Post Secondary Institutions

Several post-secondary institutions in B.C. include WorldHost customer service training as part of Tourism Management, Business, English as a Second Language and Continuing Education programs. Students benefit from valuable learning objectives that focus on soft skill development and an understanding of the economic impact of the tourism sector in British Columbia.

Each post-secondary institution is responsible for selecting an internal program coordinator and trainer who will be delivering WorldHost workshops at the School.

WorldHost workshops help Post Secondary Institutions achieve success by:

  • Certifying trainers through Train-the-Trainer sessions
  • Providing an in-depth orientation that covers effective program administration, and operations
  • Providing workshop training collateral
  • Conducting trainer evaluations to maintain quality standards.

Private Training Companies

Private training companies can add WorldHost workshops to their suite of training products by becoming a licensed WorldHost Delivery Organization.

Each organization is responsible for selecting an internal Program Coordinator and Trainer who will deliver WorldHost workshops on behalf of the organization.
