Big Brother Australia 2014 housemates - Dion

Big Brother Australia’s latest Heads of House Dion and Jason have swapped two pairs ahead of a task that will see another $30,000 of the prize money given away.

Over the weekend, it was announced that viewers had voted for Dion and Jason to take control of the game this week.

In a final Power Play, previous power couple Katie and Priya were offered the chance to buy eviction immunity using some of the $20,000 they received last week. After bartering with Big Brother, they agreed to buy the immunity for $3,000.

This means they have just over $6,000 left each, after they agreed to set aside $4,800 for the group – living on meal replacement shakes – to buy food from Big Brother’s Diner.

During today’s live show, Dion and Jason went to the Power Room to make their first move.

Big Brother informed them that this week will see the pairs compete in what was dubbed the biggest task in the show’s history, with the winning couple earning a $30,000 share of the prize fund. They were then given the opportunity to improve their chances of winning the cash by swapping two housemates to create new pairs.

With nominations looming, this also meant the boys could weaken their odds of facing the first eviction. Katie and Priya were unable to be swapped due to their immunity.

To aid their decision, Dion and Jason were given the results of a public poll that asked who the strongest pair were, with viewers naming Ryan and Travis as their biggest threats.

Later, all the housemates were gathered in the garden, where Dion and Jason announced that they’d decided to swap Cat with Ryan. This means Cat is now paired with Travis, while Ryan is now working with Sam.

Meanwhile, details of a twist to the first eviction have been confirmed. Each pair will nominate other pairs, but only one person will be evicted – with the housemates deciding who will leave between the pair that receives the least public votes to save.
