An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is an encrypted machine image of a specific computer running a base operating system, configured in a specific way, and can also contain a set of applications and services for accomplishing a specific purpose. An AMI contains all the information necessary to start up and run the software on the image. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the computing environment for running instances of an AMI.
AWS CloudFormation gives developers and system administrators an easy way to create and manage a collection of related AWS resources. The CloudFormation stack associated with this product will launch an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) with the software and configure related resources, such as Elastic IPs, VPCs, and security groups.

A deprecated version is no longer offered to new customers and will no longer be supported by the vendor after a certain date.
Users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to newer versions of the software.
Usage Instructions
Once you boot up the instance the server is immediately accessible via browser:
http://<instance ip address>:5080
(replace the <instance ip address> with the actual ip address of the running EC2 instance).
Demo applications are available at this address.
To immediately begin streaming content, login with any FTP client using sFTP. The default username will be ubuntu. Once logged in you will see a "streams" directory. Place your videos in this directly and they will be accessible via ramp://<instance ip address>/file.mp4
(replace the <instance ip address> with the actual ip address of the running EC2 instance).
You can also login via SSH with the username 'ubuntu' and your private key file. There is a script pre-installed on the server located at: /etc/init.d/red5. You can start,stop,and restart the server via this script, eg. sudo /etc/init.d/red5 restart.
Webapps are installable via the web apps directory. Simply install your web app and restart the server via the pre-installed script.
** When testing a demo application you MUST replace anything referencing "localhost" eg. http://localhost/oflaDemo with the IP address or hostname of your instance.
