Astana city akim Imangali Tasmagambetov and mayor of Zagreb city (Croatia) Milan Bandić have met in the capital today. Metropolitan mayors have discussed development and prospects of Kazakhstani-Croatian relations.

“At the moment our trade and economical relations are being built. Your have well-developed chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, and instrument engineering. We are interested in these branches, and we would like to cooperate there”, Astana city akim Imangali Tasmagambetov said in the course of the meeting.

“Every year we built almost 1.5 million sqm of housing. This year we’ve reached significant results. Previously the capital was being built and the republic invested in it; however, starting this year we become donors of the republican budget by means of the city’s domestic economy”, he added. He also told representatives of the foreign delegation about facilities being built in the capital city, and expressed readiness to cooperate in the construction sphere.

The heads of the two cities have noted that it is necessary to strengthen and develop friendly relations between the cities, and have signed agreements on cooperation.
