kayak-circle-2011[1]Attention all kayakers and paddlers in the Rockland County area! Sign up today to participate in the Fourth Annual Hook Mountain Challenge, and help raise awareness about renewable river resources while aiding a local organization, the Nyack Homeless Project. A five- or 12-mile boat race on the Hudson River, the Hook Mountain Challenge takes place this Sunday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park in Nyack, NY. Experienced paddlers, families and friends will enjoy a fun afternoon in the Hudson Valley while helping families in Rockland County who suffer from homelessness, hunger and poverty. All kayakers will also receive a tube of Arnicare Gel in their swag bags to help them recover from post-race muscle pain and stiffness.

The Nyack Homeless Project, Ltd. is a non-profit, 501(c)3 non-sectarian volunteer group that encourages adults, children and teens to make a difference by involving them with their communities to gather donations to feed and clothe men, women, families and children in need in Rockland County, N.Y. during the cold days of winter. They are committed to help as many people as possible without thought of remuneration, politics or gratitude. The NHP feeds and clothes over 8,500 people in 45 programs, shelters and other places. All donations are tax-deductible and directly aid local people in need. Visit www.nyackhp.org for more information.
