We hope you enjoy this post from guest blogger Daniel Vidal of Whole Planet Foundation.

This month, Whole Planet Foundation and Boiron USA have partnered to make a difference around the world. Founded in 2005, Whole Planet Foundation is a Whole Foods Market organization that funds poverty alleviation in communities worldwide that supply WFM stores with products. Our nonprofit’s mission is to empower the poor living in developing-world communities with microcredit and the chance to create or expand a home-based business to lift themselves and their families out of poverty. Currently, Whole Planet Foundation is funding microlending programs through microfinance institution partners in 53 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the U.S. that will offer over 1.3 million people the chance for a better life.

With Boiron’s commitment to the environment and its stakeholders, our partnership is a natural fit. During the second half of October, Boiron will donate a percentage of their sales at Whole Foods Market stores to support our mission of poverty alleviation. Already, Boiron has committed over $2,000, raising over 13 loans and providing an opportunity for nearly 80 people to lift themselves out of poverty. We look forward to seeing the impact that Boiron will be able to make around the globe during their scanback program and to see how they’ll empower entrepreneurs like Estefania in Colombia.
